Restored Life Fellowship Church
Church History
Restored Life Fellowship Church began as Koinonia Evangelistic Center which was incorporated as a non-profit corporation in October 1995. Koinonia Evangelistic Center started its ministry holding home Bible Study groups. Koinonia Evangelistic Center (known as KEC) was established as a non-denominational church and held it's first church service on October 12, 1997. This first Sunday Service was held at the Riverside Women’s Club, following an evangelistic outreach in Fairmont Park in Riverside the day before. KEC continued holding Sunday Worship Services at the Riverside Women’s Club for the next 5 years and was blessed by a growth in membership. During this time, KEC secured a church business office in the downtown Riverside area where weekly Bible Studies were held.
KEC derived its name from Acts 2:38-42, “And they continued steadfastly in the Apostles Doctrine and in fellowship” (KOI-NO-NIA). Therefore the primary focus of KEC is to continue in the “Apostle’s Doctrine” which includes fellowship, the breaking of bread, prayers and a “common union”. The mission of KEC is to reach the unchurched (those who have never heard the gospel message of Jesus Christ) and to recover the out-of-church, (those who have drifted away from their faith). We focus on restoring lives back to their meaningful purpose in God. This charge is embodied in Ezekiel 37:1-14, calling dry bones back to their restored life of purpose and destiny.
In 2003, KEC moved to a nearly 6000 square foot commercial building located at 1159 Iowa Avenue, where we were able to house our business office and worship facility all under the same roof and have 24-hour access to our facility for worship, teaching and training. After several years of renting and leasing, God enlarged our borders and expanded our territory and gave KEC its own property in the Inland Empire.
In December 2006, KEC held its first Sunday Service at 21866 Brill Road, Moreno Valley, California 92553, a 2.27 acre property owned by Koinonia Evangelistic Center, Incorporated. In 2011 KEC launched the Joseph Project Citywide Foodbank which serves families from all over the Inland Empire and beyond, with food boxes on a weekly basis. The Joseph Project also provides food directly to other ministries for distribution to families.
In 2018 KEC underwent a name change and rebranding to Restored Life Fellowship Church. Restored Life Fellowship Church maintains the original mission that KEC was founded upon to reach the unchurched and recover the out of church.
